Sonar Platform Beta Phase: All You Need To Know

Welcome, Sonarians!

We’re extremely proud to announce the launch of the Sonar Platform Beta, and the beginning of our “Build-in-Public” phase. More on that later.

This release marks the beginning of the next, and surely biggest, chapter in Sonar’s journey as a company and this exciting personal adventure every one of our beloved team members has embarked upon.

So without further ado, let’s dive into the vision, the purpose, and the functionality, behind the Sonar Beta.

A reason to build

After the incredible turbulence and uncertainty of 2020 and the launch of some of the most revolutionary projects in the space to date, crypto truly hit its stride in early 2021 exploding into the mainstream.

During this period and continuing to this day we’ve witnessed development in the industry accelerate at an unprecedented pace. With this growth, one thing has become painfully clear — for all the innovation and improvement in the space, user experience, accessibility, and education have taken a back seat.

We saw the need for rapid improvement in all of these areas and quickly got to work, planning out and building, what we aim to one day be, the central hub for market analysis, project tracking, asset management, education, and news for all crypto users, regardless of their experience.

Following an incredibly successful launch, we were both humbled and emboldened by the overwhelming support we received for our vision. This support has only grown, as has the need for the tools we are building.

A simple vision

Design. It’s not just what you see, it’s how you see it, how you feel it, and what happens to you when you’re surrounded by it.

They say the best things in life are the simplest. We disagree. We argue that the best things are the ones you don’t have to struggle with on any level, irrespective of their complexity and nuance. They are the ones where infinite depth can be found at no additional cost the longer you experience them. Like love, or friendship, or a good book.

We took this thinking to the drawing board and made it clear — the platform will be rich with functionality, it will be in a constant state of growth and it will accommodate everyone, no matter the skill level, no matter their knowledge. We envisioned a product that can take the user by the hand and guide them on their path without blocking it.

The pillars of this design are a clean, multi-layered interface packed to the brim with functionality that reveals itself in small portions, step-by-step, expanding only as far as the needs of the user, and no further.

A solid plan

Purpose and vision are great on their own but they’re nothing without a solid plan.

That’s why we’re adopting a straightforward development approach that will enable us to release features quickly one after another, keeping our investors and users informed of what’s coming next all the time while protecting our intellectual property and securing our status as innovators in our niche.

Throughout the Beta Phase and beyond you’ll see us deliver products and features on a regular basis with every next update easily trackable from our dedicated BetaVerse section on the platform’s sidebar. Releases will come with a variety of supporting materials like articles and videos as well as carefully curated educational content. As PING holders you will be able to access these tools before anyone else, as well as report bugs and offer suggestions right from within the platform.

This is our “Build-in-Public” approach. Its main purpose is to grow our product gradually and sustainably while keeping our investors intimately involved in its evolution. This model will define how we do everything from now on.

We’re opening our platform to the public in stages, beginning with two of its main applications: Token Studio and News Room.

Token Studio

Token Studio is the space where you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the current and future, financial and social performance of any project on the Binance, Ethereum, or Polygon blockchains, and beyond.

It features a vast array of indicators and tools purpose-built to provide you with the right information at the right time, at the exact level of detail you require.

The layered information structure, gives a complete, high-level understanding of any project at a glance, while an abundance of detail lies underneath — essential indicators that help you understand a project’s fundamentals side-by-side with next-generation AI-powered tools for predictive analytics, sentiment and growth analysis, smart-contract safety, news aggregation and more.

How it works

Thoroughly and effectively researching anything as nuanced and multifaceted as a crypto project, on one’s own, requires a lot of prior preparation, time, and patience, a systemized approach, the ability to multitask, the ability to sift through mountains of irrelevant data in order to find the information that matters and above all the knowledge and experience to know where and how to look for that information.

Token Studio is designed to mimic the natural way experienced investors conduct their research and analysis, only instead of having to deal with all the associated preparation and resource juggling, everything from checking prices to diving deep into trends and analytics can be done together in one clean, comprehensive and streamlined application.

The studio is split into four different sections, each working to shed light on a specific perspective. These are, Overview, Highlights, Vitals, and Explorer.

• Overview is where we go to understand what a project is all about. With a comprehensive summary of its use case, fundamentals and history, and portals to all of its communities and socials it acts as the jumping-off point for all further research.

• Highlights deals in the project’s current financial and social state. It’s the part of the application we look to for real-time feedback on everything from essentials like Market Cap, Volume, and Holders, through AI-powered scores on sentiment and price performance, to personal reports on our interactions with the project’s cryptocurrency. Our buys, our sells, profits, losses, current and past positions, and more.

• Vitals is the pulse of a project. It’s a trailing line through time. Everything here is displayed in the form of a chart, and for good reason. This section shows us the perspective of what the performance was like historically and how it has been affected by various influences, like noteworthy events, hitting specific milestones, and general news coverage.

And finally,

• Explorer. The section which can tell us all about the influences and events that drive a project forward. These can be small, like individual transactions, and very large, like major news outlets releasing articles, as well as everything in between. If it moves the project in any meaningful way, chances are you’ll find it here.

Note: “Callouts”, notifications for upcoming features, can be found throughout the application in places where these features will be implemented.

Each of these sections contains many different tools and indicators each with additional elements that can be expanded in order to peer even deeper into a prospective investment’s inner workings. Resources that could potentially take days or even weeks to compile, organize and parse for the most important information have been distilled into a simple interface with unprecedented power under the hood.

No matter if you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out Token Studio provides you with the right tools and a flexible structure for research and analysis that will easily adapt to your needs, staying out of your way when you don’t need it and standing right by your side when you do.

News Room

In a space as fast-paced and ever-changing as crypto, keeping up to date on current events is as difficult as it is necessary. Between so many talking points on disparate outlets of various quality and the sheer volume of content one has to consume, the task of staying informed can be quite daunting for those of us with little time to spare.

Just like Token Studio and the entire Sonar ecosystem, News Room exists to make navigating this space considerably easier.

It’s built to relieve you of the burdens associated with managing, curating, vetting, and organizing your news sources and their content and to empower you in your pursuit of knowledge, whatever your experience level might be.

How it works

Upon entering you will be greeted by a written section consisting of a short explanation of the current broader market conditions followed up by AI-generated summaries of the most important news from the day, quickly informing you of key points and saving you time.

Going further down you will find indicators for the most active projects as well as trending market sectors like NFTs, Metaverse, Utility, etc., immediately followed by the most important section of the application — your very own news curator.

In this section, under separate tabs for different topics, you’ll discover a wide range of quality articles sourced from the most reputable publications reporting on crypto. Articles are updated as quickly as they are released so you can stay completely updated on what’s most important and if your wallet is connected your feed will always include the latest news related to your holdings.

The future

We’re so excited to bring you these applications. Two pieces of a much bigger puzzle, that is being meticulously built out to do one thing and one thing only — provide you with the tools and knowledge needed to excel in this brave new world of crypto.

We can go on for days about the promise of blockchain technology and how exciting the future of this industry really is.

What we’ve experienced in the past ten or so years, since the arrival of Bitcoin is nothing short of extraordinary and yet it’s becoming clearer by the day — this is only the beginning.

If we take a step back and take a look at the vastness of this industry, the speed at which new users flock to it, and the far-reaching implications of its tech, it is obvious to see — a revolution in communication, finance, and access to tools that will empower people to live better, more productive lives, are all in the cards.

Simple, accessible, powerful, and enduring tools and resources that can equip the next generation of users are what is inevitably always in demand with every emerging technology. The sooner we can deliver this to the people, the sooner we can all step into this wonderfully bright future being built around us.

Next up

Right off the bat, the tempo is quick and the updates start rolling.

The very first days we’ll see a very dense release schedule, featuring quite a number of additions to the UI, the backend implementation of which has already been set up, but we’ve decided to put them on the bench for version 0.1 so as to avoid the chance of becoming overwhelmed by a long queue of bug reports, should that scenario play out.

Get smart

Undoubtedly the biggest and most interesting of the coming updates are the ones related to our proprietary Sentiment Analysis AI algorithms. They will enrich the Token Studio experience in a couple of cool ways.

To begin with, we’re adding the first of many databoxes to the Intelligence section under Highlights, showing a high-level indicator of the current sentiment around a project along with its growth rate.

In addition to Highlights, the Vitals section will grow to include the dedicated Sentiment tab where you can explore a chart of how public perception of a project has changed over time as well as overlay these movements on top of the price chart to get a better understanding of the delicate dance between price and sentiment.

Cheers to the traders

Sentiment-shmentiment! If “wen lambo?” is the song stuck in your head, allow us to entice you with these features:

Price charts on any token will be acquiring the ability to plot your entry and exit points, clearly displaying the time and percentage gain/loss for every trade.

And if you like your rocket to the moon still firmly on the ground, loading up on fuel or whatever… this metaphor got a bit out of hand… you’ll soon have the ability to open up any contract regardless of its age (or vetted/unvetted status within our database) by pasting a complete address — showing any token on the blockchain even before Liquidity is added.

Isn’t it lovely… so full of promise, look at it just sitting there!

Other smaller but important additions include custom timeframes for the charts and the ability to resize them with a simple hold-and-drag.

Knowledge is power

On the content side, we’ll start adding the first batch of educational Sonar content in the form of project summaries. Content provided by the APIs competitors pull from (and what we currently use as placeholders) just doesn’t make the cut for us. We want to give you more! A lot more. You’ll soon hear us talk thoroughly on how we’ve defined our secret sauce for these elements specifically, striking the perfect balance between simplicity, clarity, and memorability.

Speaking of essential data, the honestly beautiful expanding boxes in the Highlights section will be released closely one after another, magnifying the detail for every single data point.

Why is News Room gettin’ no love, tho?

Sure it is! We’ll soon be adding a diverse list of sections for news dedicated to specific topics and sectors (Metaverse, NFTs, DeFi, etc.), helping you get to the information that matters to you the most.

And last but not least, we’ll be implementing Wallet Connect so you can access articles directly related to your personal investments.
